A Bolota é um fruto do Género Quercus onde se incluem as árvores como os Carvalhos e os Sobreiros. Colocamos as Bolotas num recipiente com água e todas aquelas que forem ao fundo, em princípio, estarão em condições de germinar. 

A altura ideal para a semear as bolotas é no Outono e, se tudo correr bem, na primavera já temos uma pequena árvore a crescer. As sementes devem ser semeadas na zona onde foram recolhidas porque é a esse habitat a que elas estão adaptadas e as hipóteses de sobrevivência são muito maiores.

O vaso deverá ter uma saída para o escoamento da água. Enchemos o vaso com terra ou com o composto e colocamos a Bolota deitada, 2 a 3 cm de profundidade. Cobrimos com o composto a parte superior para que a bolota fique totalmente coberta. A seguir regamos o vaso para criar a humidade necessária à germinação da semente. Manter a terra sempre húmida, mas não encharcada.

How to plant an Acorn

The Acorn is a fruit in the genus Quercus which includes trees such as Oaks and Cork Oaks. You place the acorns in a water container. Those that sink should be able to germinate.

The ideal time to sow acorns is in Autumn and, if everything works, in Spring there should already be a small tree growing. Seeds must be sown in the area where they were collected because they are adapted to that habitat, where its chances of survival are much higher.

The pot must have an outlet for water drainage. We fill the pot with soil or compost and place the Acorn lying down, 2 to 3 centimeters deep. You cover the top with compost, leaving the acorn completely covered. Then, we water the pot to create the humidity necessary for the seed to germinate. You must always keep the soil moist, but not soggy.
